Do peptides replace hormone replacement therapy, or should you be doing both? I get this question constantly, and the real answer is more interesting than "pick one." Your HRT is working on one thing. Here's where peptides fill in the gap. If you're on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for perimenopause or menopause, you've probably noticed it handles some symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, sleep, better than others. Visceral fat, joint stiffness, skin thinning, and brain fog can stick around even once your hormones are optimized. That's not a failure of HRT. It's because hormones and peptides work through two completely different signaling systems in the body. In this video, I break down four peptides and exactly how each one relates to your hormone status, and where they can work alongside HRT rather than duplicate what it's already doing: → GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide, etc) — the pairing with the strongest evidence we have, including a direct cellular mechanism connecting estrogen to your body's own GLP-1 production that most people have never heard of → Growth hormone releasing peptides (CJC-1295, Ipamorelin) — a separate pathway from your sex hormones that can complement GLP-1 work for recovery, muscle repair, and IGF-1 signaling → MOTS-c — a mitochondrial-derived peptide involved in insulin sensitivity and exercise performance, one your body already produces more of after a workout → GHK-Cu — a copper peptide working through gene expression and collagen synthesis, not a hormone receptor at all Plus the practical framework for midlife hormone and peptide protocols: how to actually sequence HRT and peptide therapy with your provider, what bloodwork matters before you start either one, and why finding a provider who understands both peptide science and menopause hormone therapy is worth the search. This is general education based on current research on women's hormone health and longevity, not medical advice, and it's not a substitute for a conversation with your own qualified provider about your labs and history. 🔗 Go deeper in PepTalk, my private community for women navigating midlife hormone health: https://women-s-optimized-wellness.mn.co/share/bJwieXaaxM3Aa0qI?utm_source=manual My trusted brands: https://www.longevitywithkristi.com/shop #HRT #BHRT #Peptides #Menopause #Perimenopause #MidlifeLongevity #GLP1 #Semaglutide #womenshealth
