In this episode of TimePie on site, we are glad to welcome Professor Andrea Maier to share with us his opinion on the following four questions regarding antiaging and longevity:
1. You have conducted extensive research on muscle health and nutrition in the elderly. In your opinion, what diet/nutrition intervention do you think is best for preventing muscle loss in the elderly, and are there any other recommended interventions?
2. You have shared on ARDD two impressive clinical trials: one using an age clock to screen subjects to enter the AKG trial, and another involving healthy adults taking 6 mg of rapamycin per day. What is the progress of the trials so far?
3. Some readers have expressed concern that 6 mg per day may be too high. What is your opinion?
4. What is the current operational status and recruitment progress of the first longevity clinic in Singapore since its opening, and are there any plans to expand its scale?
Professor Maier serves at the National University of Singapore as Co-Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity as well as the President of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Sarcopenia and Frailty Research. Her research focuses on unraveling the mechanisms of ageing and age-related diseases. During the last 10 years she has conducted multiple international observational studies and intervention trials and has published more than 300 peer-reviewed articles, achieving an H index of 54.
