🧬 Autophagy is your body's cellular recycling system—and it declines with age.
I'm rebuilding my biological pace from 0.77 back to 0.65 using food-based protocols. This is Episode 3 of my one-year experiment.
In this episode:
✅ What autophagy actually is (and why it matters)
✅ Two research papers on autophagy activation
✅ Spermidine-loaded salad recipe with 100-120mg spermidine
✅ How to combine fasting + food-based compounds

🔬 KEY TERMS
Autophagosome - Membrane-wrapped "bag" that collects cellular debris
Lysosome - Your cell's digestive system filled with enzymes that breaks down autophagosomes into reusable building blocks
AMPK - Cell's "low energy" sensor that activates autophagy
Spermidine - Polyamine in aged cheese, mushrooms, legumes that activates autophagy
Caloric Restriction Mimetics - Compounds that mimic CR benefits without reducing calories
Metabolic Switch - Shift from glucose to fat/ketones 12-36 hours into fasting
Proteostasis - Protein quality control; autophagy maintains this by clearing damaged proteins
