Creatine is often thought of as a bodybuilding supplement — but its role in the body goes far beyond the gym.
In this video, I explain how creatine helps regenerate ATP, your body’s rapid cellular energy system, why creatine monohydrate is the best-studied form, and what current research says about its effects on:
Strength and lean body mass
High-intensity exercise performance
Muscle hydration and early weight gain
Brain energy metabolism and cognition
Healthy aging when combined with resistance training
Creatinine levels and kidney safety
For muscle, a typical maintenance intake is around 3–5 grams per day, and a loading phase is optional.
Creatine is not a steroid, and a mild rise in serum creatinine does not automatically mean kidney damage. However, anyone with kidney disease or significant medical conditions should discuss supplementation with their own clinician.
This video is for education only and is not a substitute for individual medical advice.
Medical information in this video has been carefully researched and updated. Medicine is a rapidly evolving field, so viewers with clinical concerns should remain in contact with their own doctor.
