If you’re over 45, starting to notice changes in your body, and thinking about taking supplements—stop before you buy anything.
The supplement industry is filled with endless products, bold claims, and aggressive marketing. But most of what you’re told overlooks how your body actually ages and what truly works.
In this video, I share 3 essential things you need to know before buying your next supplement:
1. 99% of supplements haven't been tested in humans. Just because a supplement is on store shelves doesn’t mean it’s proven to work in human beings. Most products skip human clinical trials altogether. Before buying, ask: Has this ingredient been studied in humans at the dose provided?
2. Your immune system ages much sooner than you think. By your 30s, your thymus—the organ responsible for producing new T-cells—has already been declining for years. As T-cell function changes, immune efficiency drops and low-grade chronic inflammation increases, laying the foundation for many age-related health challenges.
3. You don't need dozens of supplements. Start by addressing nutritional gaps through whole foods in your diet first. When supplementing, be highly selective and prioritize products backed by strong clinical evidence rather than taking a shelf full of generic pills.
Instead of asking "What supplement should I buy?", ask: "What’s actually changing inside my body as I age, and what has real evidence behind it?"
