In this talk, Dr. Pratik R. Chaudhari, TIFR, Mumbai, explores how early life stress can accelerate aging-related changes in the brain and body. Using a rodent model of maternal separation, the study shows that early adversity disrupts mitochondrial function, increases inflammation, and contributes to cognitive decline later in life.
The talk also examines whether nutritional intervention with nicotinamide (vitamin B3) can counter these effects. Findings suggest that long-term supplementation may reduce inflammation, improve mitochondrial health, and mitigate cognitive decline, highlighting the potential of nutrition-based strategies to address stress-induced accelerated aging.
