Creator description · original language
Dr. Steve Horvath is very well known in the field for his groundbreaking work on epigenetic clocks, which use one of the hallmarks of aging, epigenetic alterations, in order to calculate biological age. In his talk at Ending Age-Related Diseases 2020, he discusses how such clocks can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of rejuvenation biotechnology therapies, providing useful clinical endpoints that don't involve waiting for people to age and die.
In collaboration with other researchers, he recently published a scientific paper on this topic, and our discussion of it is available at https://www.lifespan.io/news/grimage-is-the-best-clock-for-predicting-death/
