*When lives become longer and less predictable, is traditional financial planning still enough?* In this panel from the *Milan Longevity Summit 2026*, *Fabio Melisso*, CEO of Fineco Asset Management, and *Professor Giuseppe Turchetti* of the University of Pisa join *Irene Elisei* of Sky TG24 to explore how longevity is transforming the relationship between individuals and financial institutions. For decades, financial planning was built around a relatively predictable life trajectory: education, work, accumulation, retirement. But longer lives are making that model increasingly outdated. People may have multiple careers, experience periods of retraining or caregiving, support several generations at once, face evolving health needs, and potentially spend decades in retirement. At the same time, individuals are being asked to take greater responsibility for decisions that will affect their financial wellbeing far into the future. The conversation explores why financial advisory may therefore need to evolve into something broader: *life planning*. What would it mean for financial institutions to understand an individual's goals, health, family circumstances, aspirations, and changing needs across an entire lifetime? How should investment strategies adapt to longer time horizons? And how can financial advice help people prepare not simply for retirement, but for the different transitions that increasingly define a 90 or 100-year life? *Participants:* • Fabio Melisso – Chief Executive Officer, Fineco Asset Management • Giuseppe Turchetti – Professor of Economics, University of Pisa • Moderated by Irene Elisei – Sky TG24 The discussion points towards a different relationship between finance and longevity: one in which financial wellbeing is not measured simply by accumulated wealth, but by the *freedom, resilience, and choices that financial security can provide throughout a longer life*. *Powered by @FinecoLive * The Milan Longevity Summit brings together global leaders across science, policy, business, technology and society to explore longevity through a *One Health* perspective — connecting the health of people with the health of our societies, economies, and planet. *Learn more about the Milan Longevity Summit:* https://www.milanlongevitysummit.org/it/speakers26/fabio-melisso https://www.milanlongevitysummit.org/it/speakers26/giuseppe-turchetti #MilanLongevitySummit #FinancialLongevity #LifePlanning #Fineco #FutureOfFinance #FinancialWellbeing #LongevityEconomy #FinancialPlanning #Longevity #FutureOfRetirement
