*The solutions for a healthier planet are emerging. The question is whether we can finance and scale them fast enough.*
Addressing climate change, resource scarcity, energy security, food system resilience, and human health requires transformation across multiple sectors at once. Innovation is essential, but innovation alone does not create transition. Solutions need capital, infrastructure, markets, policy support, and the ability to move from promising technologies to deployment at scale.
In this panel from the *Milan Longevity Summit 2026*, *Alessandra Gelera, Alessandro Monticelli, and Viktoriia Savitska* join moderator *Johan Jörgensen* to explore what financing planetary health looks like when we move beyond individual projects and start thinking at systems level.
Bringing together perspectives from *life sciences, clean energy, industry, innovation, and investment*, the discussion examines how capital can accelerate solutions that create value across both human and planetary health.
What makes transformative innovation investable? How do we bridge the gap between early-stage solutions and large-scale deployment? What role should established businesses play alongside entrepreneurs and investors? And how can financial decisions account for forms of value, resilience, and impact that conventional models may struggle to capture?
The conversation also looks at scale itself. The transition will not be delivered by a single technology, sector, or source of capital. It will require new forms of collaboration between *business, finance, science, government, and innovators*, capable of connecting breakthrough ideas with the resources and infrastructure needed to implement them in the real economy.
*Participants:*
• Alessandra Gelera – President, Cluster Nazionale Scienze della Vita ALISEI
• Alessandro Monticelli – Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Green Independence
• Viktoriia Savitska – Chief Global Affairs Officer, Epicentr Group of Companies
• Moderated by Johan Jörgensen – Partner, Sweden Foodtech
Ultimately, financing planetary health at scale requires more than directing capital towards sustainable projects. *It means recognising that the resilience of our economies, the health of people, and the health of the planet are interconnected investments in the same future.*
The Milan Longevity Summit brings together global leaders across science, policy, business, technology and society to explore longevity through a *One Health* perspective, connecting the health of people with the health of our societies, economies, and planet.
