No other published study has achieved comparable results in a mammal. The experiment has not been independently reproduced. Nicolas & Nina have established the Rejuvenation Science Institute in Brazil to run an open replication of Katcher's study, in collaboration with UNICAMP. The experiment begins in April 2025. Rats will receive injections of PEPS — pig extracellular particles from young animals — and be assessed across five months using grip strength tests, memory tests, ten blood markers, and epigenetic clocks run by Steve Horvath's Clock Foundation.
