If you're on Ozempic, Wegovy or Zepbound and your hair seems thinner, the usual explanation is the weight loss, not the drug. Two new lines of research complicate that answer. One is a September 2026 genetic study of about 205,000 men that found a modest link between GLP-1 receptor activity and patterned hair loss. The other is a pair of early, not-yet-peer-reviewed conference studies that found hair and nail changes reported more often among people taking these drugs. I break down what each study measured, what it can't tell us, why the weight-loss explanation may be incomplete, and what to bring up with your prescriber if you're noticing changes. This video is for informational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet, supplement regimen, or lifestyle.
