A drug discovered on a remote island… that might slow ageing.
Rapamycin was first isolated from soil on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). At the time, it looked like just another antifungal.
It turned out to be something much more interesting.
In this video, I break down how rapamycin works, why it’s become central to longevity research, and whether it really could be the first drug to meaningfully slow ageing.
We’ll explore the biology behind it, including mTOR, cellular growth, and what happens when we interfere with one of the body’s most fundamental pathways.
But also the bigger question:
If this works… what does that mean for how we age?
