Osteoporosis is often reduced to a simple calcium problem, with the standard advice usually revolving around dairy intake and calcium supplements. But bone health is far more complex than that, and the evidence shows that focusing on calcium alone misses many of the key processes that actually determine whether bones stay strong or become fragile over time.
In this video, I explain what really drives bone strength over the long term, why isolated calcium supplements may not be the answer people think they are, and the overlooked role of nutrients like magnesium, vitamin K2, vitamin C, and protein in bone remodelling. We also look at inflammation, visceral fat, gut health, and why resistance training is one of the most powerful tools for protecting your skeleton as you age.
Bone is living tissue. It is constantly being broken down and rebuilt in response to nutrition, hormones, inflammation, and physical load. The goal is not simply to “consume more calcium”. The goal is to create the conditions where the body can actually build and maintain strong bone properly over decades.
What you’ll learn:
-Why calcium alone is not enough for strong bones
-The surprising link between calcium supplements and artery calcification
-Why osteoporosis is a systems problem, not a single nutrient problem
-The role of collagen and vitamin C in bone strength
-Why magnesium is essential for vitamin D to work properly
-How vitamin K2 helps direct calcium into bone
-The connection between inflammation, visceral fat, and bone loss
-Foods that genuinely support bone health
-Why resistance training matters more than many realise
-The real causes of osteoporotic fractures
