What if ageing wasn't something you simply endured, but something you could measure, personalise, and act on?
PROMETHEUS is a precision geromedicine clinical trial at the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity, designed to do exactly that. Over one year, participants receive a fully tailored intervention combining supervised exercise, cognitive training, dietary and sleep coaching, and individually selected nutraceuticals, all calibrated to their own biological age trajectory.
In our proof-of-concept phase, 21 adults aged 50 to 80 completed an 8-week version of the protocol. The results were striking: significant improvements in cognitive function, muscle strength, skeletal muscle mass, and visceral fat, with over 80% compliance across exercise and supplementation.
The full trial is now underway, with 188 participants and a rigorous placebo-controlled design built to meet the highest standards of clinical evidence.
This work is led by Prof Andrea Maier and a multidisciplinary team spanning gerontology, immunology, exercise science, bioinformatics, and digital health, operating from a purpose-built clinical trial centre at NUS, ranked 1st in Asia for Medicine.
PROMETHEUS isn't just a research study. It's a blueprint for how precision geromedicine can move from the lab into hospitals, clinics, and communities.
