About this video

Creator description · original language

Histones are proteins that DNA wraps around — but they’re more than just packaging. They act as switches, controlling which genes turn on or off. Chemical marks on histones (acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation) regulate DNA repair, inflammation, and metabolism. With age, these marks drift, driving epigenetic ageing. Recent research (Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, 2023) shows that reduced histone levels destabilise the genome, leaving DNA prone to damage. Changes like reduced H3K27 trimethylation now form the basis of epigenetic clocks, which measure biological age. #LongevityAustralia #naturalantiaging #doctorsgroup #sciencebasedwellness #organicsupplements #antiagingtips #holistichealth #AustralianHealthBrands #herballongevity #biohackingaustralia #agesmart #naturalyouth #wellnessbackedbyscience #longevitylifestyle #epigenetics #Histones #ageing #EpigeneticClock #DNA #MolecularBiology #youtube #youtubevideos #video
