About this video

Creator description · original textText language: English

Dr. Gabrielle Lyon explains how exercise and protein-forward nutrition can support skeletal muscle, mitochondrial health, energy, and longevity. Dr. Gabrielle Lyon explains why skeletal muscle plays a central role in mitochondrial health, metabolism, and healthy aging. She discusses how inactivity can impair the body’s ability to use stored fuel and why resistance training should be combined with endurance exercise. She also shares her protein-forward approach to nutrition and discusses phytonutrients and selected supplements that may support muscle and mitochondrial function. Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is board-certified in Family Medicine, having completed a combined Geriatrics and Nutritional Sciences fellowship at Washington University and undergraduate training at the University of Illinois. As a protein metabolism expert, she has received two decades of mentorship from Dr. Donald Layman, PhD, to develop her Muscle-Centric Medicine® concept for health and aging. Practicing since 2006, she treats industry leaders. She works closely with Special Operations Military, serving on the boards of the SEAL Future Foundation and Hunter Seven Foundation to develop protocols for toxic exposures and cancer.
