About this video

*We are living longer, working differently, and facing profound demographic change. Are our workplaces evolving fast enough?* Longer lives, declining working-age populations, technological disruption, changing expectations around careers, and persistent inequalities are reshaping the relationship between people and work. In this panel from the *Milan Longevity Summit 2026*, *Barbara Falcomer, Alberto Antonietti, and Giuseppe Carrella* join moderator *Carola Salvato* to explore how businesses and policymakers can respond to a workforce undergoing structural transformation. The challenge goes far beyond keeping people in employment for longer. A longevity society requires us to rethink how careers are structured, how skills are renewed, how organisations manage multiple generations, and how people move between different phases of work, learning, caregiving, and life. At the same time, demographic change is creating new pressures on productivity and talent. Organisations will need to attract and retain a more diverse workforce, make better use of experience and skills across generations, and remove barriers that continue to limit participation and progression. The conversation explores the connections between *longevity, productivity, inclusion, reskilling, organisational transformation, and workforce policy*. How do we create workplaces where different generations can contribute and thrive? How can businesses adapt to shrinking talent pools without simply asking people to work longer? What role will continuous learning play in careers that may span five or six decades? And how can greater participation and equity become part of the response to demographic change? *Participants:* • Barbara Falcomer – Executive Director, Valore D • Alberto Antonietti – Vice President, Assoconsult • Giuseppe Carrella – Partner, BCLAB • Moderated by Carola Salvato – Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Kea Connecta Ultimately, the future of work is not simply about adapting jobs to longer lives. *It is about redesigning organisations, careers, and policies around the reality that people, skills, and life trajectories are changing — and turning that transition into an opportunity for greater productivity, participation, and equity.* The Milan Longevity Summit brings together global leaders across science, policy, business, technology and society to explore longevity through a *One Health* perspective — connecting the health of people with the health of our societies, economies, and planet. #MilanLongevitySummit #FutureOfWork #Longevity #Workforce #Demographics #Productivity #FutureOfSkills #WorkplaceEquity #LifelongLearning #OneHealth
