What the evidence says
Physical activity includes walking, cycling, sport and everyday movement. WHO guidance addresses health benefits across the lifespan and recommends limiting sedentary time.
The useful question is which outcome is being measured: fitness, function, disease risk or survival. These are related, but they are not interchangeable.
Public-health guidance supports being physically active.
Where the evidence stops
Population guidance cannot predict your lifespan or replace a plan adapted to your medical needs.
