About this video

Creator description · original language

Aging isn’t random — it follows predictable biological pathways. In this video, I break down the 12 Hallmarks of Aging, the leading scientific framework used to understand why we age at the cellular level, and explore how peptides intersect with each of these pathways. The Hallmarks of Aging were first introduced in a landmark 2013 paper and expanded in 2023. Together, they map the core biological processes that drive aging, including nutrient sensing, mitochondrial function, cellular senescence, genomic stability, inflammation, stem cell exhaustion, and more. In this deep-dive, we’ll walk through each hallmark and discuss: • What the hallmark actually means in plain language • Why it matters for longevity and healthspan • Which peptides are most relevant to that pathway • How lifestyle and metabolic context influence these systems This is an educational, science-forward discussion intended to help you understand how aging works — not to promote any specific protocol or treatment. Important note: While immune aging (often referred to as immunosenescence) is not listed as a standalone Hallmark of Aging in the original framework, I intentionally expand the discussion of cellular senescence to include immune-regulating peptides. Immune decline, inflammaging, and senescence biology are deeply interconnected, and separating them entirely doesn’t reflect how these systems behave in real biology. This video is for educational purposes only. Peptides discussed are research compounds. This content is not medical advice.
